About Hunt’s Steak and Seafood
More specifically, Hunt’s Steak and Seafood was named one of the best restaurants in Alabama for the southern part of the state. While several other Alabama Gulf Coast seafood restaurants were listed, Hunt’s Steak and Seafood is the only one located in The Wiregrass.
It might not come as a surprise to locals that Hunt’s Steak and Seafood was named one of the best restaurants in Alabama. After all, the restaurant is so confident in the quality of their products, it guarantees customer satisfaction.
In fact, if you don’t like your meal, they will make it right, or it’s on the house. However, not making a happy plate at Hunt’s is highly unlikely. According to the website, the restaurant started as a three-stool oyster bar specializing in shucked oysters on the half shell in the 1960s.
In 1970, they doubled the stools to six. By 1981, the restaurant doubled in size again. Finally, in 1989, a complete renovation took place, and a fresh seafood and steak restaurant was attached to the original oyster bar.
Now, the full-sized steak and seafood joint can seat more than 200 people, serving both lunch and dinner.
The menu
Are you wondering what to try when you visit Hunt’s Steak and Seafood in Dothan? The lunch menu and the dinner menu both feature plenty of seafood, including crab claws, crab legs, grouper fingers and peel and eat shrimp.
The lunch menu does feature oysters prepared in a variety of ways, such as on the half shell, baked, Cajun-baked and steamed. The dinner menu, on the other hand, offers steak options, including rib eyes and filets.
Other options include burgers, sandwiches, salads and a variety of sides.
