It’s no secret. Feeling safe is one of our basic needs. And now the secret is out! Dothan is one of Alabama’s safest cities according to SafeWise, an online safety and security resource.
About Dothan’s safety ranking
According to recent reports, SafeWise recently shared news that Dothan is one of Alabama’s safest cities based on their data. More specifically, Dothan is listed as the seventh-safest city, following Fairhope, another South Alabama city.
The report stated that, according to SafeWise, all of Alabama’s safest cities have a crime rate 51 percent lower than the rest of the state. What’s more, all of the safest cities reported less than 2.2 violent crimes per 1,000 residents. In fact, the majority reported less than 1.0.
First on Alabama’s safest cities list is Warrior, a Birmingham suburb with a population of 3,192. Kimberly in Jefferson County and Southside in Etowah County are number two and three on the list of safest Alabama cities.
