Dothan 101

There’s no better way to get the 411 on the role of our city’s government than with Dothan 101, a neighborhood academy. Get to know your city’s service departments and the people who work in them firsthand.

About Dothan 101

Dothan 101 is a nine-week course designed to improve your understanding of the city government and the role it plays within the community. The course will be held on Tuesday evenings in the Board Room on the second floor of the Dothan Civic Center.

Class participants can expect to learn more about each of the service departments, including what they do and the team that makes it happen.

See the inner workings of the Circle City’s government up close and personal. Tour the community center and wastewater treatment facilities, for instance. Watch demonstrations from departments ranging from utilities to law enforcement training.

City services and departments participants will learn about Planning and Works, Finance, Public Works and more. One of the main benefits of Dothan 101 is the knowledge citizens gain, including knowing who to contact if they ever need assistance.

This immersive course will begin on Tuesday, April 4th. However, now is the time to register for this hands-on experience. Class size is limited to 20 adults on a first-come, first-serve basis. Dinner is provided at each class as well.
