There are more than flowers blooming in Dothan near the intersection of South Cherokee Avenue and West Main Street. Work on what will eventually be the Cherokee + Main shopping center is in full swing!
A work in progress
Some might call it a labor of love. Some might call it an investment. No matter what you call it, the Cherokee + Main shopping center is a work in progress.
It’s also a family affair. Husband and wife team and Dothan natives, Pat and Scott White, purchased the old retail center in January 2021. Scott’s brother, Terry, is overseeing the property’s development.
Pet owners can book appointments for their pups at this full-service pet grooming salon located at 105 South Cherokee Ave. Suite 3 by calling 334-479-8583.
Meanwhile, a few doors down, work is still being done on what will be Gourmet, a catering and lunch venue. Not only will the eatery have indoor dining, but an outdoor patio is under construction as well.
And yet another business recently wrapped up its final stages of renovations.
In fact, they opened their doors last week on March 22nd. Shoppers can now find a “fresh catch” and much more at the Southern Anchor Fresh Market specialty grocery store, seafood and meat market!
They are officially open at 105 South Cherokee Ave. Suite 1 Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Keep an eye on the progress with additional upgrades to Cherokee + Main like a new parking lot, new signage and fresh landscaping, for instance.
The good news for Colony Square residents is they can drive over to the new specialty market and pick up supplies for a delicious meal in less than four minutes. We just a little over a mile away from the renovated shopping center. Find out more cool community news and fun things to do when you keep reading our blogs!
