This Sunday, we’ll let our flag fly. The American flag, that is! Celebrate our history and our hard-earned freedom with 2021’s Fourth of July event: Fireworks at the Fairgrounds in Dothan this Saturday, July 3rd. So, don’t forget to mark it down on your calendar!
More on the Event
We’re celebrating the Fourth of July a day early this year at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds! And the fun starts long before Fireworks at the Fairgrounds in Dothan, too. Make sure you come early, so that you can check out all festivities before the main event.
What can I do at the event?
You’ve already heard about the fireworks! Well, this event also comes with its own Dothan flair. We’re well known for our peanuts—and the event will offer free samples of boiled peanuts for all.
Other draws include:
- Free American hand flags;
- A farmers market;
- Ice cream samples;
- A car show;
- A hot dog eating contest;
- Free inflatables for the children to play on;
- Concessions available for purchase;
- Free watermelon slices;
- Helicopter and antique tractor displays;
- And more.
Speaking of our famous peanuts—ever been to Dothan’s National Peanut Festival? Our town will hold the Fourth of July fireworks in the very same location: 5622 US Highway 231 South. Head over there on July 3rd for a great time!
Attendance costs $10 per car. Visitors can enter starting at 5 p.m. Then, around 9 p.m., the fireworks show will officially begin.
The money earned via tickets will benefit Wiregrass United Way. That means you’ll directly help a social services group. Because of you, they can help provide educational programs, health resources, and job assistance to the Wiregrass area.
What does our country mean to you? Freedom, opportunity, and community! We can all embrace what connects us—our love of our homeland—this Fourth of July. And of course, we can’t forget about the upcoming Fireworks at the Fairgrounds in Dothan. From all of us at Colony Square, we hope you have a very happy Independence Day!
