Before your holiday calendar fills up, pencil in the Dothan Downtown Christmas Festival 2020. Start the month off with a bit of holiday cheer next Saturday, Dec. 5, with festive family fun downtown.
Santa’s Coming To Town!
On December 5 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Dothan Downtown Christmas Festival 2020 will light up the afternoon with wintery fun. Make time to visit with Santa, do arts and crafts, and watch a movie on Wadlington Green.
There will be caroling, s’mores, train rides, and an extra special surprise from Santa—real snow! Real snow means real fun with sledding! Bring gloves to keep those hands warm. The sledding zone will be cold—just like the North Pole.
The Dothan Downtown Christmas Festival 2020 will culminate with the annual Christmas tree lighting. Admission to this full day of fun is free, but there will be food vendors and other attractions that are pay to play. This event will happen rain or shine or…SNOW!
Keep the Calendar Out
Another annual event, Saddle Up Santa Christmas Festival, will be held as a drive-thru event Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hosted by the Dothan Boots & Saddle Club, this community awareness holiday event focuses on families in need this holiday season.
Buckle up the kids, head to the Houston County Farm Center at 1701 East Cottonwood Road, and stay in the warmth of the car. Nonprofit and faith-based organizations will have decorated booths and will hand out information and goodies for the children.
The Salvation Army of Dothan and Waffle House are providing free, pre-packaged lunches while supplies last. Santa will be there too—handing out stuffed stockings. This event is free to the public, but canned good donations for the Salvation Army are encouraged.
