About Wallace Community College
Wallace Community College was founded back in 1947. At that time, it was called “George C. Wallace State Community College” after four-term state Gov. George Wallace. It’s also a huge deal! At the time it was established, it earned its stripes as the inaugural comprehensive community college in all of southeast Alabama.
Over the years, it has continued to grow, sprawling across three separate campuses. Today, the college has approximately 4,000 students.
